About the Performer

Wouter van der Wilt graduated cum laude as an organist from the Brabant Conservatory in Tilburg with Bram Beekman. He also studied church music and took improvisation lessons with Henco de Berg. He continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart with Ludger Lohmann through a scholarship from the Prince Bernhard Cultural Fund. Wouter participated in various master classes, including with Michael Radulescu, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Leo van Doeselaar, Loïc Mallié, Margaret Phillips, Peter Planyavsky, Jos van der Kooij and Guy Bovet.
Wouter won several prizes at various competitions, including first prize at the national improvisation competition in Amsterdam in 2009 and 2011. He was a finalist at the International Improvisation Competition Haarlem.

In 2010 he was appointed cantor-organist of the Hoflaan Church in Rotterdam Kralingen. Since 2017 he has been working as a teacher of improvisation at the Tilburg Conservatory (Academy of Music and Performing Arts)
