Note: In 2025, it will be 75 years since the organ, restored after war damage, was put back into use by organist Hub. Houët. On September 13, the program from 1950 will be played by the current organist Ruud Huijbregts. During this concert, there will also be an explanation of the history and restoration of the instrument.
About the performer
Organist, harpsichordist, and conductor Ruud Huijbregts studied organ, harpsichord, and choral conducting at the Brabants Conservatorium in Tilburg.
He has been conductor/organist of the St. Catherine Church in Eindhoven since 1991 and city organist of Eindhoven since 2011. In 2015, he was appointed principal subject teacher of organ and theory at the Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg.
In addition to his work as organist and harpsichordist/continuo player, Ruud Huijbregts is also the conductor of Collegium Vocale Eindhoven. From 1995 to 2019, he was the conductor of the student choir Vokollage. As artistic director, he is also co-responsible for programming the concert series Muziek in de Cathrien in Eindhoven.
